Preview of Costa Rica 2022 American Football Season
American Football is back in Costa Rica after 2 years because of the Covid 19 pandemic that ravished the world. The league has six 1st Division teams playing 5 games this season. It appears the new league is formed this year under a new name called UPFCR (Union Pro Football American Costa Rica).
The season starts on March 5th and ends on May 1st, followed by a playoff system to determine the two teams’ finalists for the Tropical Bowl championship game on May 14th.
The six teams are Saints, Toros, Knights, Leones, Tigers, and Pumas in the 2022 season. Leones F.C. was the 2019 Tropical Bowl winner.
